Left, Right

I just posted a longish entry in Inquirer Current, the joint blog Manolo Quezon and I keep for Inquirer.net. "Conspiracy theory" begins forthrightly enough:

In the Philippines, what do the Right and the Left have in common? They both think the United States, effectively, still runs the country.

I don’t know if the rest of the piece is as coherent as it seemed to me, though, when I was in the thick of writing.
